The Passion For Fruits: Passion Fruit Juice

A health-conscious individual should develop a passion for fruits. The health benefits of fruits remain unprecedented. Fruits play a role in the prevention of disease and the promotion of health.


It's best to eat fruits raw with either skin on or peeled off. If you're not a fruit buff but want to indulge in nutritious stuff, squeezing juice is a good option. A fruit press, a juicer, or a blender can make things easy for you. Freshly squeezed juice is best to drink. It is a rich source of vitamin C, potassium, beta-carotene, and fiber, if no pulp is discarded.


Try juicing the lowly passion fruit (pasionarya). It is not very popular because its orange, pulpy juice carries with it as many as 250 small, hard, black seeds. But its unique flavor is appealing -- musky, guava-like, and sweet/tart to tart.

Passion Fruit Juice

Ingredients:

  • Passion fruits, washed and cut in halves
  • Water
  • Honey or sugar to taste
  • Ice cubes


What to Do:

  • Spoon out juice along with seeds into blender
  • Press first button of blender for a second. Follow this process until seeds separate from juice. Be careful not to let seeds disintegrate.
  • Strain juice and discard the seeds.
  • Add water, honey or sugar, and ice cubes.
